At Seahorse Millinery, each hat and headpiece is individually designed and handcrafted to ensure a perfect fit and effortless style for any occasion. I create couture, bespoke pieces that complement your outfit for weddings, race days, and formal events. I also re-trim, up-cycle and repair existing hats.
Meet Jeanette
Following a career in the Royal Navy, I qualified as a milliner in 2019 and my journey with Seahorse Millinery began. Having worked in a purpose built atelier at home for seven years, I now enjoy a studio with a view at Gosport Marina, in proud association with Tin Trousers military tailors.
The Process
As soon as an event is looming get in touch for your appointment! Ideally I like six weeks in order to source materials and colour-match perfectly. I ask clients to come in with their outfit and any accessories - and always a pair of shoes about the height they would wear on the day if not yet purchased. I have a range of hats and headpieces available to try on in order to get the perfect shape and proportion for the wearer, we then design something fabulous and the magic happens.
